About the Sunset Moths

We all bring many years of life experience and knowledge to our shared enthusiasm for creating music and writing songs – it’s a life long passion for all of us.

CHRIS

Chris provides the lead vocals on most of the Moths songs, as well as playing acoustic or electric guitar – he is also the bands principal song writer, with over a hundred songs penned to date.

DAVE

Dave is the Moths’ lead guitarist and provides a crucial role in the creative process – he has also written several of the Moths’ songs on which he takes the lead vocal.

BILLY

Billy has a strong fervour for rock music which is evident in his vigorous bass playing – he also provides lead and back-up vocals, as well as playing guitar and songwriting.

JAY

As “the rhythm of the band” Jay is the beating heart behind everything we do. As well as playing drums he provides vocal harmonies to brother Chris’ lead vocals.

Our Story

The Sunset Moths consists of four members all from Lincolnshire, and take their name from a little known species of moth which has iridescent wings allowing it to take on all the colours of a the spectrum – something which hopefully is reflected in our music.

For all the members of the Moths, the band is all about writing songs and enjoying the creative process.

Over the years we have all been involved in other bands and music, but the one thing that has always kept us enthusiastic about being in a band is, when a idea comes together and you hear the band play your original song for the first time – it erupts into existence; “taking flight for the first time!”

We’ve spent a lot of time honing our songs, but now we all believe it’s time to share our efforts, our passion, and the results of the hard work with the world. Hopefully that will be quite a few people.

When seeing the Moths live you’ll also be treated to our interpretations of some classic rock songs.
